Rochelle has enjoyed working for the Community Church of Vero Beach on their 9’ Hamburg Steinway concert grand.. Here she is performing a preview of the Pletznev Nutcracker Suite variations. She is often seen in the Winter concerts and as a guest pianist in duo and solo Community Concert Series

Pianist Rochelle Sallee has a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Piano Performance and over 35 years experience as a performer and teacher.


Rochelle  started playing at age 2, her formal training began at age 4, and she embarked on her musical career at 16.  In Los Angeles, CA,  Rochelle worked in the film and record industry recording with such luminaries as Elmer Bernstein and Marty Balin.  During her long career as a performer Rochelle has worked as classical soloist in Washington, California, Utah, and Colorado. 

Since relocating to the east coast, Rochelle has spent summers in Europe performing in Italy, Belgium, Germany, Norway in music festivals and solo concerts. In the United States and abroad she has appeared as the guest soloist with orchestras including:

  • The Parlarte Festival Orchestra

  • The Hungarian National Conservatory Orchestra in Budapest

  • The Muenster Orchestra in Germany

  • The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra in the USA

  • Mendelssohn Piano Concerto in g minor

  • Rhapsody in Blue and I Got Rhythm Variations by Gershwin

  • Mozart Piano Concerto No. 22 in E flat

  • Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 2

Her solo repertoire is too lengthy to list, but includes composers from Bach to Bacharach! Rochelle loves the Romantic and Impressionist period composers the most, and she extensively features literature by Chopin, including all 4 Ballades, Schubert Impromptus and full collections by Debussy and Ravel. 

Rochelle also performs in chamber music concerts, and has performed twice with professionals in the Monster Concerts, and looks forward to Monster Part Two with a total of 6 master pianists playing together. Jazz crossover lovers will appreciate her performance of the Claude Bolling Suite for Chamber Orchestra and Jazz Piano Trio!

Ms. Sallee has also performed recently in 4 hand concerts with Marcos Flores (Doctor of Musical Arts, Eastman Conservatory graduate) in the Premier Concert Series, multiple performances with Jacob Craig and Andrew Galuska (piano/organ). Highlights from these concerts include the Nutcracker Suite for 2 pianos, Brahms Hungarian Dances and the Schumann Fantasy for 4 hands in F minor. Look forward to exciting two piano performances this 18/19 season of some Anderson/Roe transcriptions that dazzle and flash with touches of jazz piano sprinkled throughout!
